5 steps to signing your next 10 clients

So, how's your private coaching calendar looking? If it's full, awesome - I love hearing that. If it's not, well, it's time to learn how to sign clients on demand. And that's exactly what I'm laying out in this blog- 5 steps to signing your next 10 clients.

5 Steps to Signing Your Next 10 Clients

 

Step 1: Commit.

This step is critical, so don’t skip it. If you’re serious about signing your next 10 clients, then you have to commit to doing it. Mark it on your calendar, add it to your goals list, stick on a post-it, say it out loud. Whatever you have to do to make this real for you, do it. If you want to have 10 clients, you have to commit to doing whatever it takes to get them. If you don’t commit, well, then, let’s be honest - what’s the point? When we don’t fully commit we aren’t going to have that fire in our belly that we need to stretch ourselves and do the things we need to get those 10 clients. But, when you do fully commit, when you say to yourself and the Universe, I’m doing this thing, that’s when the magic happens. It’s incredible to me to see how many of my clients have completely changed the trajectory of their businesses by simply committing deeply to their goal. So it's time to ask yourself - are you committed to doing whatever it takes to reach this goal? If your answer is a YES, great, move on to step 2. If it's not, I want you to take a few minutes to figure out what it's going to take for you to commit. Don't move on before you figure that out. 

 

Step 2: Decide what you’re offering.

If you already know what you want to offer, this step is going to be easy. If you’re a member of the Detox Done community, you might be offering your detox. If you’re brand new to your business, I recommend starting out with a 90-day 1:1 coaching program. That's because it doesn’t require a fancy sales page or a lot of content, it just requires your time and your coaching skills. And, it’s a great way to learn how to become an incredible health coach! 

I know people get stuck on whether things should be 8 weeks or 12 weeks, group or in person. I want to let you all in on a little secret - what you offer doesn’t really matter that much! Ask yourself: what do you WANT to offer?

If you don’t know, decide, right now, what you’re going to offer. Not later this week. Not later today. Decide right now so you can keep moving forward. 

 

Step 3. Fly your flag.

This just means that it's time to tell people what you are doing! That might make you cringe, but you have to actually tell people what you're doing in order to get clients. This is true whether you’ve been in business for a week or for a year - in order to enroll clients, you actually have to announce that you are open for clients. I see a lot of people skipping this step, or not sharing that they are taking clients clearly enough. There are a lot of ways to do this, but I am going to invite you to do this in the easiest way possible. Share your goal with your communities. Yes, that means I want you to actually tell people that you are setting a goal of signing 10 clients in the next 30 days. Let them know you doing a pre-sale for your next detox. Tell people you’re beta testing a new program. Whatever you choose to offer, be as clear as possible when you're' sharing because clear names beat clever names any day of the week. You can tell people by doing a post on your social media channels, by sending an email, by sharing to your stories, or by texting friends. This message can be simple - Hey friends, I'm working on signing my next 10 clients into my new (Insert the Name Here) program. Message me if you're interested! Doable? Good. Now move on to step 4, where the magic happens.

 

Step 4. Ask for help.

I was talking to my client Dianne the other day about her upcoming free challenge. Her goal was to sign 50 people, and she was at 20 with a few days to go before the challenge started. We talked through what she had done so far, and I said - have you asked for help? She wasn’t sure what I meant, so I explained. I wanted her to share her free challenge on social - and - ask people to help her get to 50. As soon as we hung up, she posted on Facebook sharing about her challenge, and asking if people could share it. In less than 24 hours, she more than DOUBLED her enrollments to 44. The night before her challenge started, she was at 120 people, with more joining every day. Dianne was thrilled with the result, and she was able to grow her list-building challenge by 500% just by asking for help.

So how do we do this? Again, by telling people what you are doing and directly asking for help. Text friends, post on social, ask colleagues - tell them you are working on signing 10 clients and ask if they know anyone who might want some help with their health goals. Yes, it can really be that simple!

 

Step 5. Be persistent, and consistent.

No one cares as much about your business as you do. That’s not me being mean, that’s just true. The great thing about this that you get to be 100% in charge of how often you are sharing about what you're doing, how often you're posting, and how frequently you are following-up with people. (Hint: you probably need to be doing this WAY more than you think you do.) Everyone I know is really busy, and everyone you know is really busy, too. That's why it can be genuinely helpful to remind people of the work you do and the results you can help your clients get. Follow-up with people who express interest, write down the name of anyone who mentions that they need help with their health goals to you. Invite them into a conversation to find out if you two are a good fit. Keep asking. Keep inviting. And you'll hit 10 signed clients before you know it - pinky swear.
